Success!

Even if we didn’t update as we should have, Clo managed to do an awesome job!

a )  She finished it on time (saturday morning at 3 am)
b ) She sold every single copies she had (even tho she gave away  3 or 4 copies)

On a  second strike, I did not perform as well as her. Actually, I failed because i did exactly like last year, ending up doing all my stuff at last minute. Crap! I sold 2 copies… Shame on me, that’s okay, I managed to create a cool story tho!

To finish this in beauty, my sister did her first comic and attended her first con, the EXPOZINE 2007 ! She printed 10 copies of her shoujo-manga and sold 3, exchanged 1! Congrats’ it’s an awesome score for a young lady like you!

Thanks everyone, I had a good time even with the flaws here and there. ^__^

I’ve been up since 5h30 this morning to continue my comic. I’m not sure if I’m going to be done on time tho… I’m very perfectionist with my drafts and it’s taking me forever to complete one strip… Also, I’m not quite sure that the pencil lineart is pleasing me. It’ll have to do thought, I certainly don’t have the time to vectorize 50 strips.

Random Shiznat!

Je fais des strips un peu random dernièrement. Ahhh… j’vais peut-être faire plein de strips avec des persos que j’ai créé depuis le début des temps.

Making progress

I sketched 7 comic strips tonight! woohoo!!

I also have the entire comic planned out story and artistically wise: the art will be made in illustrator to save me some time (smoothes out lines) because, as you all know, time is an issue in this challenge… and as you might not know, I can’t ink at all.

Anyways, I leave you tonight with a picture of me with all the comics I did today!

Grosses journées

J’ai des grosses journées de travail, je suis épuisé…

Pas de dessin aujourd’hui mais un petit update sur ma progression.

Tout d’abord j’ai continué un peu le découpage et les brouillons mais je me demande si je ne serais pas mieux avec des comic strips. Sinon les choses avancent pas si mal.

WordPress World

It has come to my attention that the time in WordPress world isn’t the same as the time in Montreal. So most of the late day posts are showing as a day late (let’s say I posted on the 5th at 11pm, it will say I posted on the 6th). I will try to find a way to fix this very soon.

Paris je t’aime

Two new strips for all of yous tonight! I’ve also settled for a comic book format: 8.5″X3.5″. Which means it’ll be wide and not very tall. It also means that each page will feature only one 3 panel comic. This makes it a lot easier for me, because I won’t have to make 100 strips just to get a 25 page comic…

I am aiming for 40 comic strips by the 22nd. Of course, this goal might not be met because I presently only have 5 strips sketched out and none actually finished. Anyways, I’ll be posting a progress bar from now on so you can all know where exactly I am.

Here’s what I did today: 

Pretzel Stand Love

I usually have a harder time coming up with comic strip ideas… One good strip is usually preceded by three crappy ones… Tonight I was unexpectedly productive thought, and I’m very happy with what came up:

 The text that was cut is: “You… That doesn’t explain AT ALL what you’re doing at my house at 2 AM” “Listen, this is ever going to work if you don’t run after me.. (see second panel of previous strip)” “Who the hell is taking care of the pretzel stand”

Comme on recule l’heure…

… j’ai encore quelques minutes pour mettre mes trucs en ligne avant la fin de la journée.

Alors je me suis fait une feuille de référence pour mes trois filles de SA5, je vais sûrement en faire d’autre plus tard. J’ai quelques lignes de dialogues écrites dans mon scénario, un peu de découpage de fait et 1 page et demie de brouillon. Ça va vite? Non… ça m’a pris la journée… ^_^;
